USSSA  Eastern PA & NJ Coronavirus Update

Dear Members,

With difficult times comes difficult decisions. As each state systematically closes schools and recreational facilities, privately owned businesses are forced to make their own decisions under the scrutiny of the public eye. We in the USSSA Eastern PA & NJ office have been taking our directives from the USSSA National Office in conjunction with the CDC and statewide directives. We want to do what is best for our teams and their families, while keeping our unrecoverable and ongoing expenses in mind.

As we responsibly follow the directive of Pennsylvania Governor Wolf and New Jersey Governor Murphy, we are being forced to cancel our scheduled events through March 30th.  We will be actively monitoring future events and communicating with coaches and players alike at the appropriate time regarding these events, but at this time only the March events have been cancelled.

As we all know this situation is fluid, and we are monitoring it day by day. We are cautiously optimistic that by following these mandates and practicing social distancing we will be able to resume our spring season sooner rather than later.  Considering these unfortunate circumstances that we are all dealing with, we are extending our season into August and early September, and we encourage teams to explore the additional tournaments that will be posted in the coming days/weeks.

We thank you for your understanding, look forward to your continued support, and can’t wait to see you all on the field again soon!

Wishing you good health,

Jeff Kittle
