Tears to our eyes & a share to pay forward
The below is a message we received from Viper alumnus Lauren Naveo. Lauren played for us for 3 years and is a graduate of Dumont HS, Class of 2018. Sharing here so that our players and parents can see how seriously we take our role with our players and preparing them not only for softball, but for life beyond softball.
The vipers softball organization is one of the few parts of my life I can truly say has made a longstanding impact on my life. With the help of the amazing coaching staff who were eager to lend a hand to me not only on the field but off I was able to achieve my dream of playing college softball at William Paterson University. Vipers changed the game of softball for me in more ways than I could have ever imagined. To start off with, I came into the program as a player with work needed to be done and left with my skills raised to a new level as my coaches pushed me to be the player they knew I could be. My game was also improved as my coaches increased my softball IQ by teaching me the ins and outs of the game. With this I now had a full understanding of the game and was ready to play softball at the college level. Not only did the vipers teach me the skills an individual player needs but also something much more influential; the importance of teamwork. I had always been an individualistic player who only cared about the numbers on my stats sheet, however playing with the vipers transformed me into someone who understood that teamwork truly does make the dream work. The players and coaches grew to be my second family that allowed me to fully flourish as a softball player and enriched my love for the game. My years as a viper changed my life forever and I will always be grateful to have had the chance to play with an amazing family.
