PLEASE NOTE:  There have been NO REPORTED CASES AT The Viper Den.

We have made the decision to suspend all team practices, clinics & programs effective immediately.  I said yesterday that I will be waiting to see what the North Jersey High Schools will be doing.  That will be the direction we will more than likely follow, or at the very least, use as a foundation for whatever next step we take.”

Here is a link to the 3/12/20 announcement

Last night, Bergen County Schools announced they will be going to remote learning and suspending all Spring sports as of 3pm this afternoon.  School closures, at least for now, will last a minimum of two weeks.

One thing is for sure…nobody knows the direction this thing will take. The phrase that is popping up everywhere on news shows today is “social distancing”.   If this moves in a direction positive for the kids to resume playing softball safely, it is easy to rescind the suspension and re-open, in whatever capacity we feel makes sense.  Should things move in a direction that extended suspensions are necessary, we can always announce that at the proper time.

Obviously, we do not know what we do not know.

Access to the Den is hereby suspended for all coaches and players.  Over the next few days we will be disinfecting the Den, evaluating what if any activities can resume and when, but most importantly closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation to ensure the safety of our players and families.

There is no need to contact us about your upcoming practice.  They are ALL cancelled until 3/28 at the earliest.

Please stay healthy.  Wash your hands.  Be safe.  We will miss you.
