What a great weekend of softball. From where we started up in Danbury to where we finished today is something to be proud of.

The Sunday game in the Ramsey Tournament against Westwood was heartbreaking but we have nothing to hang their heads over.  They are a 12u team, and we gave them a run for their money.  I will tell you, a lot of Westwood parents stopped me in the parking lot to tell me how impressed they all were with us, and how they couldn’t believe we were only 10u.  When other teams/parents see that and say that, that’s the best compliment to the Viper kids.

We are the first 10u team in the viper organization to not only win a game at this tournament but to be in multiple close games.  To be a #5 seed, as their coach I could not be more proud of them and how far they have come.

When parents heard in January we woul dfinish at a 12U level, they thought we were crazy.  Yes, we have a plan and start with the end in mind.

I look fwd to the 12u season. I will be in touch about when practice starts (prob the end of August).

Amelia Flood, and Annie Doud, I wish you the best of luck at 10u….you guys are going to be amazing. This is not goodbye, it’s see you in the fall and winter workouts!

Finally, to the players and parents thank you from the bottom of my Heart for making the rookie season as a viper coach a memorable one. I couldn’t have asked for a better group.

Enjoy the rest of your summer and remember defense wins games!

Go Vipers!
